Woman In The Tent
For Everything Home

ABOUT ME
Hey Y'all! I'm Laura.
I'm so glad you chose to visit my page. The purpose of Woman in the Tent is everything HOME! The name comes from a story in Judges about the woman in the tent, who found herself an unlikely hero while going about her everyday tasks at home (more below). With topics ranging from cooking and decorating to homeschooling, and everything in between, my hope is that this page will foster a joy and even some fun as we navigate our time together at home.
I grew up in the south and have the accent to prove it. I'm married to my best friend and we have two fantastic grown-up kids, two wonderful kiddos-in-law, one uber handsome grandson, and one splendidly gorgeous granddaughter. You might find us hanging out on a weekend listening to an 80’s hair band at a local concert venue, or sitting in front of the TV on UFC Fight Night.

Why Woman in the Tent?
Many years ago, I attended a women's Bible study on the Book of Judges, and while I could relate to Gideon and Deborah on certain levels, there was one figure who stood out to me, the woman in the tent. She wasn't a woman of notoriety. She didn't lead armies into battle. She wasn't famous. She was just a regular person, minding her own business, keeping her home. She was busy being ordinary when God brought the enemy to her door and used her to save a nation, His nation.

I relate to Jael of Judges 4 & 5 (no, not because her name means "wild goat", though I can sometimes be as stubborn as one, haha), but because I'm just an ordinary person. I make my bed. I cook supper. I make mistakes. (Sometimes I make mistakes while I'm cooking supper). I do laundry. I go to work. I lose my temper. I trip over my own shoelaces. I watch Scooby Doo with my grands. I teach a Bible Study class. I do all the things a regular person does. On this page, I'll share some of that with you.

Most blessed is she of women in the tent." Judges 5:24
