USA: Alaska & Arizona (Cold and Hot)

Updated: Mar 11, 2024

Happy Tuesday!

Alaska & Arizona = Hot & Cold/Tundra & Desert

You can find fun facts for kids on the National Geographic Site. We had fun listening to all the State Bird songs while we studied the states, too.

( I have linked Alaska above, you can find Nat Geo for Arizona here. There is currently no bird song for Arizona.)

Jaxson did a coloring sheet. You can find basic State coloring pages by Crayola here but we used the cute ones I found here. We also identified animals that live in hot and cold climates.

We made cacti and igloos (Note: we used toothpicks and floral foam for our cacti. Gramma supervised carefully and because they were "prickly", I disassembled them as soon as we finished them and made our pictures.)

We ate nachos & quesadillas, tried hot and cold candies, and had a yummy “Eskimo pie”!

Alaska and Arizona Day was September 8, 2020
