Happy Tuesday! “Alabama” Day
You can find fun facts for kids on the National Geographic Site. We had fun listening to all the State Bird songs while we studied the states, too.
Jaxson did a coloring sheet. You can find basic State coloring pages by Crayola here but we used the cute ones I found here.
Jaxson loved drawing his letters out in the salt box. Ella Mae liked licking the salt off her fingers.
We sang “Oh, Susanna” and we also tasted an “Apple Pie” sucker.
Helen Keller was from Alabama, so we learned a little sign language because Helen couldn't hear. We went over the abc’s and “Jesus Loves Me”. We watched the Magic School Bus episode about light, "Gets a Bright Idea", since Helen Keller also couldn’t see.
Hank Aaron was from Alabama, so we tried a variety of peanuts and Cracker Jacks. We watched the Magic School Bus episode “Plays Ball” about force and friction. They both loved cracking open the peanuts!
Alabama Day was September 1, 2020
