Happy Tuesday!

You can find fun facts for kids on the National Geographic Site. We had fun listening to all the State Bird songs while we studied the states, too.

Jaxson did a coloring sheet. You can find basic State coloring pages by Crayola here but we used the cute ones I found here.

Jaxson made a US flag out of construction paper and star stickers!

Colorado’s state animal is the Big Horn Sheep so we made a puppet from a lunch sack, construction paper and googly eyes.

Jaxson made adobe houses with his kinetic sand like the Pueblo natives built. Then we made Indian corn by stringing pony beads on chenille stems (pipe cleaners).

We tea-dyed native costumes (soak in tea water, then wash and dry, and use markers to design). We also made beaded necklaces from jewelry string, pony beads, and feathers.

We played in our food and sculpted the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. We attempted to ski blueberries and grapes down our mountains but we didn’t have enough inertia.

Lastly, we made stegosaurus fossils, ate Dino Bites, and watched the Flintstones.

Colorado Day was October 13. 2020
